Carpet Repairs

Stretching: Over time, poor installation, heavy furniture, or high traffic can cause carpets to loosen or come off the tack strip. Langenwalter can stretch the carpet to remove wrinkles and ensure a smooth surface, eliminating tripping hazards caused by ripples or bumps.
Seams: Seams where carpet pieces were joined during installation can sometimes come apart, particularly in high-traffic areas like hallways. Langenwalter can re-seam and repair these seams to restore their integrity.
Patches: While Langenwalter prefers to avoid patching carpets, it may be necessary when there is missing material due to pet scratches, burns, or holes. Typically, a matching piece is sourced from the closet or a similar location.
Thresholds: Metal thresholds that transition between hard surfaces and carpets can become damaged, loose, or detached. Langenwalter can either repair or replace these thresholds as needed. We carry a variety of metal thresholds depending on what is needed.
Padding: Spills and water damage can sometimes damage carpet padding. Langenwalter can pull back the carpet, cut out the affected padding, and install new padding before reattaching the carpet.
Subfloor Treatment: Persistent odors from previous tenants or pets may require carpet and padding replacement. After removal, Langenwalter can treat the subfloor for odors and seal it to prevent future issues before installing new carpet.
Tack Strip: If nails are poking through or the carpet is loose at the edges, Langenwalter may need to remove and replace the tack strip.
